Oana Sorop

Oana Sorop obtained her MSc in Biophysics in 1997 from Bucharest University, Romania and her PhD in 2004 from the University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. She currently works  as  Assistant Professor within the Department of Cardiology, Division of Experimental Cardiology at the Erasmus Medical Center in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Her research focuses on the different aspects of coronary (micro)vascular disease and its involvement in ischemic heart disease in experimental models of obstructive- (chronic coronary artery stenosis / hibernation) and non-obstructive (diastolic dysfunction / INOCA) ischemic heart disease, using a variety of in vivo (large animal models) as well as in vitro techniques.
